Elliot makes his 600cc debut in Jerez with team AIPAR
It was the first race of the season for Elliot in Jerez with his new team, AIPAR. He’s stepping up to the 600cc class, riding a Yamaha that’s much more powerful than his previous 250cc bike.
With 36 riders on the grid, including 20 in the stock category, the competition is tough. Unpredictable weather limited the practice sessions. Despite a soaked track, Elliot managed to qualify in 9th place.
In the first race, he got off to a great start. Due to limited dry-track practice, he lacked a bit of pace but still finished 14th !
In the second race, he gained several positions right from the start, until two riders crashed just in front of him and forced him off into the gravel. He got back on track, improved his lap times, and climbed his way back to finish 11th in his category, a strong comeback.
A very encouraging learning weekend for the rest of the championship.
